Dr. Berman was the coordinator of ChildFirst for the State of Pennsylvania: she retired from this position in January of 2021. The trainings were for first responders such as police officers, EMTs, children and youth workers, prosecutors, judges, and other professionals who deal with immediate situations involving interpersonal violence, undergraduate and graduate students at IUP had the opportunity to volunteer at the trainings and meet potential colleagues and employers as well as determine if becoming a professional who deals with cases of interpersonal violence was a good career path for them.
